Production Leaders for Saltvik Operations Area

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The Saltvik operations area includes the prisons Saltvik, Härnösand, and Ljustadalen, as well as the detention center Saltvik. Within the operations area, there is a wide range from the open women's prison Ljustadalen to the closed prison Saltvik, which in addition to regular departments also has one of the country's three security units. The prison Härnösand is also a closed facility. The largest professional group is prison officers, but there are also healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, etc. The inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or work within the prisons' packaging/assembly, laundry, or woodworking industries. You can easily reach the Saltvik prison and detention center by bus or car and park in our staff parking. The prison Härnösand is located in the town center with good bus connections and staff parking. The prison Ljustadalen is just outside Birsta and also offers staff parking and good bus connections.

We are now looking for three production leaders for the Saltvik operations area who want to work closely with people in a meaningful and practical everyday life.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be employed as a production leader, which practically means that you will guide clients in their employment and work training in our production. Your placement will be at the Saltvik prison or the Härnösand prison. At the Saltvik prison's production, we have a mechanical workshop, laundry, textiles, assembly, and packaging department where we manufacture products for external customers and all internal service equipment for the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. At the Härnösand prison, clients work in carpentry, digital printing, textiles, assembly, and laundry.

In your daily work, you will have direct contact with our clients and contribute to their learning and development. The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's recidivism prevention work aims for inmates to break the vicious cycle during their sentence, and employment plays an important role in this. Some clients have limited work experience, and the main purpose of the operation is to contribute to learning but also to be part of social training. Working as a production leader with us at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service suits you if you want a meaningful job.

Through your knowledge and experience, you contribute to more clients being better prepared after their sentence. Employment affects clients' future opportunities for employment after release, as well as their ability to be self-sufficient without criminality.

The employment begins with a local introduction of 3 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that allows you to act physically if the situation requires it.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to everyone being treated equally with your attitude. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Experience in guiding others in work
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills

It is an advantage if you have:

• Work experience in production and guiding in areas such as textiles, carpentry, and packaging
• Experience working with the quality management system ISO 9001
• Work experience from the prison service, security work, social care, educational work, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work
• Work experience in order management and product development
• Driver's license B

Interviews are planned to be held physically on-site during weeks 12 and 13.
